Head of Legal (Retail, FMCG)

A leading and fast-growing retail organisation is seeking a Head of Legal to lead legal, compliance, corporate governance, and risk management functions. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will act as a strategic business partner, supporting expansion, commercial operations, investments, and omni-channel retail initiatives while ensuring strong legal and governance frameworks across the organisation.

What you'll do:

• Serve as the principal legal advisor to the Chairman, CEO, and executive leadership team.
• Lead corporate governance, board matters, shareholder affairs, and legal risk management.
• Support expansion projects, investments, M&A transactions, and strategic partnerships.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and business arrangements.
• Oversee legal compliance across retail, e-commerce, product, marketing, and operational activities.
• Lead intellectual property protection, dispute resolution, litigation management, and regulatory engagement.
• Develop internal policies, controls, and compliance training programmes across the organisation.

What you bring:

• Law degree; Lawyer Practicing Certificate and/or postgraduate qualifications preferred.
• 12–15+ years of legal experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong background in retail, FMCG, e-commerce, consumer-facing businesses, or other fast-paced commercial environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale operations, expansion projects, investments, and senior leadership teams.
• Strong expertise in corporate governance, commercial contracts, compliance, consumer protection, and regulatory matters.
• Excellent stakeholder management, commercial judgement, and English communication skills.
