Legal Manager (Manufacturing) - Hanoi

A leading multinational company is seeking a Legal Manager to provide strategic legal support across its Vietnam operations. This role will lead commercial legal matters, corporate governance, compliance, dispute resolution, and legal digitalisation while partnering closely with business leaders to support growth, innovation, and risk management in a collaborative international environment.

What you'll do:

• Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply, distribution, supplier, and project contracts.
• Provide legal advice on advertising, marketing, promotions, product packaging, and other commercial activities.
• Manage disputes, litigation, and external legal counsel.
• Liaise with government authorities and industry stakeholders on regulatory and anti-counterfeiting matters.
• Advise the business on new commercial initiatives, corporate governance, employment, intellectual property, and day-to-day legal matters.
• Drive legal digitalisation initiatives, including contract lifecycle management, legal audits, and AI-enabled legal tools.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments across competition law, antitrust, IP, EHS, real estate, and other relevant areas, providing practical guidance to the business.
• Develop and deliver legal and compliance training for employees and management.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and compliance risks across the organisation.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to support strategic business initiatives and long-term projects.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of compliance, ethics, and internal policy frameworks.
• Serve as a key point of contact for legal and compliance matters, working closely with regional and global compliance teams to investigate and resolve issues..

What you bring:

• 10+ years of experience in commercial legal practice, either in-house within a multinational company or with a leading law firm.
• Qualified lawyer with a law degree from a reputable university; admission to practice in Vietnam is required. Qualification in the US, UK, or another common law jurisdiction is a strong advantage.
• Strong expertise in commercial contracts, corporate law, dispute resolution, and Vietnamese legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Additional experience in specialist areas such as employment, data privacy, or regulatory compliance is an advantage.
• Commercially minded with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice and develop solution-focused recommendations.
• Strong organisational, analytical, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills in both English and Vietnamese.
• Comfortable working with regional and global stakeholders across different time zones.
