Senior Legal Counsel - Renewable Energy

A leading international renewable energy company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its growing portfolio across Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The position offers exposure to large-scale renewable energy projects and regional transactions within a collaborative international environment.

What you'll do

• Provide day-to-day legal advice on renewable energy projects, including development, investment, construction, financing, permitting and operations.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements including PPAs, EPC, O&M, land leases, JV and service agreements in English and Vietnamese.
• Advise on Vietnamese investment, construction, electricity, environmental and land regulations, including project licensing and permitting.
• Support M&A transactions, including legal due diligence and negotiation of SPA, SHA, MOU and JV agreements.
• Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle and support dispute prevention and resolution.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise internal stakeholders on relevant changes.
• Work closely with commercial, finance, technical, operations and business development teams to align legal strategy with business objectives.
• Support corporate governance and compliance matters and manage relationships with external counsel.
• Provide support on regional projects and transactions across Southeast Asia when required.

What you bring

• Significant legal experience in renewable energy, infrastructure or related project development in Vietnam.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, particularly PPA, EPC and O&M contracts.
• Solid knowledge of Vietnamese investment, construction, electricity, environmental and land regulations.
• Experience supporting M&A transactions, including due diligence and SPA/SHA/JVA documentation.
• Strong risk management and dispute resolution experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external counsel.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior lawyers is an advantage.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent English and Vietnamese communication skills.
