Mid-level to Senior Associate - Japanese-speaking Lawyer

Our client is a Japanese law firm looking for a Mid-Level to Senior Associate to join its Corporate practice in Vietnam. The role will focus on advising Japanese clients on corporate, M&A and investment matters.

What you'll do

• Advise Japanese clients on corporate, M&A, investment and commercial matters under Vietnamese law.
• Support and lead transactions including due diligence, transaction structuring, drafting and reviewing legal documents, negotiations, signing and closing.
• Provide legal advice on corporate establishment, restructuring, foreign investment and regulatory matters.
• Work closely with Japanese clients, international counsel and internal teams to deliver practical legal solutions.
• Manage client communications and take responsibility for matters with increasing levels of independence.
• Support junior lawyers and contribute to the development of the Corporate practice.

What you bring

• Vietnamese-qualified lawyer with approximately 4-10 years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong experience in Corporate, M&A and/or Foreign Investment.
• Experience working with Japanese clients is highly preferred.
• Japanese language proficiency sufficient for legal/business communication is required.
• Strong English communication and legal drafting skills.
• Good understanding of Vietnamese corporate and investment laws.
• Commercial mindset, strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple matters effectively.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
