Account Manager - Animal Nutrition (HCMC or Hanoi)

Save job

A leading global organisation in the animal nutrition sector is seeking an Account Manager Animal Nutrition to join their team in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to own and grow one of the company’s most strategic key accounts, while also leading and developing a talented team of Key Account Managers. You will be at the forefront of building and sustaining long-term, executive-level partnerships with some of the most valuable clients, ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth.

What you'll do:

As an Account Manager Animal Nutrition based in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, you will play a central role in shaping the future of animal nutrition for some of the organisation’s most valued clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around owning full commercial responsibility for a major key account—developing bespoke strategies that drive mutual success while nurturing executive-level relationships with senior stakeholders. You will lead a team of Key Account Managers with empathy and clarity; setting objectives that inspire growth while ensuring consistent standards across all accounts. Collaboration is at the heart of this role: you’ll coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that address complex client needs. By identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts—and leveraging value-based selling—you’ll help achieve ambitious revenue targets. Your ability to foster teamwork through regular feedback sessions will be crucial in creating an environment where everyone feels supported. Success in this position means not only meeting commercial goals but also contributing to a culture where learning never stops and every idea is valued.

  • Own full commercial and strategic responsibility for one of the company’s most critical key accounts by developing tailored strategies that align with both client objectives and organisational goals.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders in complex multi-stakeholder environments to ensure sustained partnership success.
  • Drive account growth through expansion initiatives such as upselling, cross-selling, and identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a dedicated team of Key Account Managers by setting clear objectives, performance expectations, and personalised development plans.
  • Ensure consistent account management standards by implementing best practices and governance across all key accounts under your supervision.
  • Foster collaboration within your team by promoting accountability and high performance through regular feedback sessions and shared wins.
  • Deliver revenue, margin, and growth targets across owned and managed key accounts by leveraging commercial discipline and value-based selling techniques.
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within existing clients while overseeing forecasting processes, CRM pipeline management, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of high-value solutions that meet client needs and exceed expectations.
  • Act as a strategic advisor for assigned key accounts by maintaining a deep understanding of client objectives and proactively addressing challenges.

What you bring:

To excel as an Account Manager Animal Nutrition you will bring extensive experience from the fields of animal nutrition or related disciplines such as veterinary science or agribusiness. Your proven track record includes leading teams towards shared commercial targets—demonstrating your capacity for nurturing talent through collaborative leadership rather than directive management. You possess deep technical knowledge spanning feed formulation practices as well as practical insights into animal health status across multiple species; those with expertise in swine or poultry will find their background especially relevant here. Your interpersonal skills shine when forming lasting customer relationships—combining attention to detail with empathetic problem-solving approaches that build trust over time. A pro-active attitude paired with openness to frequent travel ensures you remain connected both internally (with your team) and externally (with clients). Communication forms another cornerstone: your ability to deliver constructive feedback sensitively supports conflict resolution while strengthening bonds among colleagues. Negotiation prowess alongside planning acumen enables you to navigate complex stakeholder environments smoothly—always keeping shared goals front-of-mind.

  • Master degree in animal nutrition, animal science, veterinary science, agribusiness or related field is required for this role.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience working in animal nutrition, animal health, animal production or farm management within Vietnam is essential.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing a team of Key Account Managers or sales professionals with demonstrated results.
  • Track record of building high-performing teams that consistently achieve or exceed commercial targets through collaborative efforts.
  • Sound technical understanding of animal nutrition including feed formulation and animal health status across various species; expertise in swine or poultry is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with problem-solving skills as well as marketing abilities needed to form robust customer relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment while enjoying face-to-face customer interaction; possessing a pro-active growth mindset is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication skills including feedback delivery and conflict-resolution capabilities are necessary for success.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Vietnam to engage with clients directly is expected from candidates applying for this position.
  • Strong negotiation skills coupled with planning abilities and presentation expertise are important for managing complex client environments.
