What you'll do:

As Business Development Manager – Mandarin Speaking based in Hanoi, you will immerse yourself in Vietnam’s vibrant renewable energy landscape. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve identifying new investment opportunities across multiple sectors such as solar rooftop installations, large-scale solar farms, direct Power Purchase Agreements (dPPA), battery storage systems (BESS), electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS), M&A ventures, and more. You will actively engage with commercial partners from diverse industries to initiate collaborations that drive sustainable growth. From initial concept through contract negotiation to project execution, you will ensure every partnership delivers tangible value for both parties. By leveraging your networking skills through account profiling and targeted marketing campaigns you will generate quality leads that align with strategic objectives. You will coordinate closely with internal teams—legal experts for compliance matters; engineers for technical feasibility; construction managers for delivery timelines; finance specialists for budgeting—to guarantee seamless project progression. Your role also includes representing the organisation at industry events as an advocate for renewable solutions while providing insightful reporting on market trends. Success in this position requires nurturing relationships at all levels of authority while maintaining rigorous time management practices. You will foster a collaborative team environment by supporting colleagues throughout the project lifecycle—from presentations through negotiations—ensuring everyone shares in collective achievements.

  • Source and develop new investment opportunities across solar rooftop, solar farm, direct Power Purchase Agreements, energy efficiency initiatives, battery storage systems, electric vehicle charging stations, M&A projects, and other related business areas.
  • Build partnerships and foster collaboration with various industries for commercial and industrial renewable energy projects.
  • Lead partnership efforts from concept to completion including analysis, negotiation of contract terms, planning, pricing strategies, and ongoing follow-up with customers and contractors.
  • Execute business strategy and plans to secure a robust pipeline of greenfield projects in rooftop solar, energy efficiency, and storage solutions.
  • Generate leads through account profiling, marketing campaigns, business networking activities, and other market penetration strategies tailored to the Vietnamese market.
  • Qualify potential partner enterprises and develop relationships aligned with organisational business strategy to advance opportunities; create compelling proposals offering individualised value for each client.
  • Identify key decision makers within target organisations; present solutions effectively; negotiate terms; overcome hurdles necessary to secure contracts.
  • Coordinate project delivery with internal teams (legal, engineering, construction, finance) and external parties as needed to prioritise tasks, analyse progress, review deliverables, and track milestones ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Represent the organisation at renewable energy events as a speaker and thought leader in solar energy; enhance presence within the country by establishing relationships at all levels of authority.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress including key performance indicators and strategic insights; analyse market trends and competitive landscapes to optimise strategies.
  • Conduct weekly meetings to monitor progress or address issues on pending projects; establish monthly and quarterly business plans with forecasts, metrics, and milestones.
  • Support colleagues during the project development cycle including company presentations, negotiations, contract introductions, preliminary offers, final offers; contribute to building a high-performing team of business development professionals.

To excel as Business Development Manager – Mandarin Speaking you will bring proven experience from the renewable energy sector—ideally having worked on solar rooftop or farm projects or similar initiatives.   • At least three years’ professional sales experience at a similar level within Renewable Energy Projects such as Solar Rooftop installations or Solar Farms or relevant sectors is essential.
  • Proven ability to communicate fluently in English (minimum TOEIC 700 or IELTS 5.5 required) is mandatory for effective international coordination.
  • Mandarin communication skills are highly desirable; proficiency in Japanese or Korean would be considered an advantage.
  • Comprehensive understanding of sales management activities combined with extensive experience across industrial zones is crucial for success.
  • Deep knowledge of renewable energy businesses including relevant regulations governing commercial projects is expected.
  • Capacity to lead negotiations with customers, subcontractors, partners while demonstrating empathy and consideration throughout discussions is vital.
