What you'll do:
In the capacity of Business Development Manager – Healthcare Medical Devices based in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be entrusted with advancing business interests across Vietnam by nurturing close associations with distributors, channel partners, and key opinion leaders. Your daily activities will encompass devising effective strategies for market entry, negotiating contractual agreements, preparing technical documentation, coordinating logistics for prompt deliveries, and resolving post-sales concerns with sensitivity. Furthermore, you will play an instrumental role in supporting marketing endeavours by collecting pertinent market intelligence, participating in academic events, and contributing insights that inform strategic direction. - Attain sales objectives within the designated Vietnamese territory by aligning closely with the overarching Healthcare APAC sales strategy and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Formulate and execute comprehensive strategies for establishing and managing both new and existing distribution channels and partner networks, thereby ensuring sustainable business expansion.
- Cultivate and sustain robust, trust-based relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) among customers to promote enduring engagement and mutual understanding.
- Oversee business development initiatives including negotiation, preparation of sales contracts, technical documentation, and coordination of order processing to guarantee timely delivery of products.
- Address post-sales matters with empathy and efficiency, ensuring that customer satisfaction remains paramount in all undertakings.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing Department to support national and regional initiatives such as academic conferences, ensuring seamless execution of joint projects.
- Assist marketing analysis efforts by gathering customer requirements and target market intelligence, providing valuable insights for strategic planning and product development.
- Monitor prevailing market trends and competitive dynamics to inform decision-making processes within the team.
- Deliver precise sales forecasts and collaborate with supply chain colleagues to manage inventory levels judiciously, minimising any potential disruptions in service provision.
- Travel extensively within Vietnam (up to 60%) and occasionally throughout the region to reinforce relationships with partners and stakeholders.
What you bring:
To excel as a Business Development Manager – Healthcare Medical Devices you will contribute substantial experience from the healthcare sector—particularly within medical devices—and demonstrate comprehensive expertise in distributor management. Your background should encompass exposure to endoscopy or infection prevention products as well as practical involvement in marketing or business development initiatives. You will exhibit refined interpersonal abilities that facilitate effective engagement with both external partners such as KOLs and internal teams including marketing or supply chain. - Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Clinical Medicine, Microbiology or an equivalent discipline is required; an MBA qualification would be regarded as advantageous for this appointment.
- A minimum of eight years’ professional experience within the healthcare medical device industry is essential for success in this role.
- At least five years’ demonstrable experience managing distributor networks is necessary to ensure effective partnership oversight.
- Familiarity with endoscopy, Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), or infection prevention products is preferred but not obligatory.
- Exceptional communication skills are indispensable for liaising effectively with distributors as well as internal functions such as marketing and supply chain teams.
- Experience in marketing or business development activities will be viewed favourably during candidate assessment.
- Proficiency in English (both spoken and written) alongside advanced MS Office software application skills is requisite for daily operations.
- Demonstrated ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations is important for informed decision-making.
- Competence in drafting reports, conducting market surveys, composing business correspondence and procedure manuals is expected from applicants.
- Ability to present information articulately and respond thoughtfully to enquiries from managers, clients, customers or other business entities is crucial.
