This role offers you the opportunity to shape the future of the coatings and plastics market in North Vietnam by leveraging your technical expertise and interpersonal skills. You will be empowered to drive customer acquisition, revenue growth, and team development while enjoying a supportive environment that values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional growth. The company is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace with flexible working opportunities, generous pension contributions, and ongoing training to help you thrive both personally and professionally. If you are passionate about building strong relationships, understanding market needs, and delivering exceptional results, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact.

What you'll do:

As Senior Sales Manager Coatings and Plastics in Hanoi, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth across North Vietnam. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing a dedicated sales team with empathy and encouragement while developing strategic plans that expand the company’s reach within the coatings (water-based paint; solvent-based paint) and plastics (masterbatch; PVC lubricant) segments. You will nurture existing client relationships by listening attentively to their needs and presenting solutions that resonate with them. By preparing insightful reports for management and principals—ranging from monthly sales analyses to market trend consolidations—you will contribute valuable intelligence that shapes business decisions. Regular communication with suppliers will keep you informed about industry developments while enabling effective price negotiations. Monitoring inventory health ensures smooth operations as you take responsibility for deadstock management. Your consultative approach will help resolve challenges quickly by keeping directors updated on any issues affecting sales performance. Success in this role requires balancing technical expertise with interpersonal sensitivity so that both customers and colleagues feel understood and supported.

  • Successfully manage the sales team to achieve growth targets by fostering a collaborative environment where every member feels supported and valued.
  • Design and implement strategic business plans that expand the company’s customer base in North Vietnam while ensuring a strong market presence in both coatings and plastics segments.
  • Set objectives for sales representatives, provide coaching, monitor performance, and encourage continuous improvement through regular feedback sessions.
  • Build long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with clients, understanding their unique needs, and offering tailored solutions that address their requirements.
  • Present comprehensive sales, revenue, expense reports, and realistic forecasts to upper management to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Identify emerging markets and shifts in industry trends by staying fully aware of new products launches and competitor activities through regular market visits.
  • Prepare detailed reports for principals including monthly sales analysis, market trends consolidation, product presentations adapted for local audiences, and easy-to-remember messaging.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers to exchange market information, discuss competitors’ landscape, negotiate prices, and consult on quotations for customers.
  • Monitor inventory levels, purchase orders, profit-and-loss statements, deadstock management, and slow-moving items to maintain optimal business operations.
  • Inform business directors and suppliers immediately about any loss of sales or reasons thereof to ensure prompt action is taken.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for Senior Sales Manager Coatings and Plastics brings proven experience from the chemical distribution sector—particularly within coatings (water-based paint; solvent-based paint) or plastics (masterbatch; PVC lubricant). Your educational background ensures technical proficiency while your extensive hands-on experience allows you to navigate complex product landscapes confidently. You possess strong analytical abilities which inform your approach towards market intelligence gathering through regular visits or competitor analysis. Your interpersonal skills shine when collaborating with both internal teams and external customers; you listen actively so others feel heard before proposing thoughtful solutions tailored specifically for them. Mentoring comes naturally as you guide junior staff members towards achieving their full potential through supportive coaching techniques. Advanced computer literacy means your presentations are not only visually engaging but also memorable for local audiences who appreciate clear communication. Fluency in English further enhances your ability to connect across cultures—making it easier for suppliers or principals abroad to trust your recommendations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification provides you with a solid foundation for understanding complex product specifications within coatings and plastics segments.
  • At least six years of experience in product knowledge related to water-based paints, solvent-based paints, masterbatch formulations or PVC lubricants enables you to offer expert advice to clients.
  • Background in technical support, product development or project management equips you with practical insights into how products can be tailored to meet specific market needs.
  • Proficiency in English allows you to communicate effectively with international suppliers as well as local stakeholders.
  • Market intelligence skills such as regular market visits for updates on new launches or competitor analysis demonstrate your commitment to staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Strong business sense combined with industry expertise helps you identify opportunities for growth while maintaining ethical standards.
  • Essential teamwork skills include being an active member of collaborative teams where good interpersonal abilities are crucial for success.
  • Ability to work closely with customer teams means you can specify requirements clearly while helping them understand the benefits of proposed solutions.
  • Excellent mentoring skills allow you to coach sales representatives effectively so they feel encouraged to develop professionally.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite enable you to prepare persuasive presentations that are easy for local audiences to remember.
