A leading global healthcare organisation is seeking a Head of Sales to drive its commercial success across Vietnam.10:09:11 query returned open=false

This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape sales strategy, develop a high-performing team, and make a meaningful impact on people living with chronic diseases. You will be empowered to influence decisions at both local and regional levels, working alongside an experienced management team that values your input and supports your professional growth. The organisation is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every voice matters, ensuring equality of opportunity throughout the recruitment process. With flexible working opportunities, clear performance expectations, and honest feedback, you will thrive in a culture that encourages collaboration and continuous learning.

  • You will have genuine influence over sales strategy, resource allocation, and people development, making independent decisions that drive results for the business.
  • The organisation provides ongoing support for your professional growth through cross-functional collaboration, training opportunities, and knowledge sharing with regional teams.
  • You will join a workplace dedicated to inclusivity and equality, ensuring all applicants are treated fairly and given equal consideration throughout the recruitment process.

What you'll do:

As Head of Sales based in Ho Chi Minh City, you will play a central role in driving commercial excellence within Vietnam’s healthcare landscape. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve setting ambitious yet achievable objectives for your team while ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals. You will work closely with management peers—including Marketing Director, Finance Director, Legal Counsel, Commercial Effectiveness Team—and lead a group of dedicated sales managers and executives who operate in the field. By developing robust sales plans from territory insights and allocating resources effectively across your team members, you will help maximise reach and impact. Your ability to coach others through regular feedback sessions and structured development plans will foster a supportive environment where everyone can grow together. Externally, you’ll build lasting relationships with doctors, pharmacists, retail outlets, medical associations and distributors—ensuring that products reach those who need them most. You’ll also represent the organisation at industry events while contributing valuable market intelligence back into strategic planning discussions. Occasional travel abroad will broaden your perspective further as you engage with international colleagues during congresses or seminars.

  • Take ownership of sales performance for Vietnam by building and nurturing a team that consistently delivers on targets while collaborating closely with the wider management group.
  • Lead the sales function to achieve budgeted goals, forecast outcomes, and bottom-line results for Vietnam, providing monthly year-end forecasts to senior management.
  • Develop comprehensive yearly sales plans from territory insights, set quarterly and annual budgets for sales and expenses, and allocate targets as well as account responsibilities across the team.
  • Coach and mentor sales managers and executives through co-visits, regular feedback sessions, tailored training programmes, individual development plans, and frequent KPI reviews.
  • Contribute actively to strategic planning processes, product launches, promotional activities, and provide actionable field feedback regarding market conditions and competitor activity.
  • Build positive relationships with healthcare professionals, pharmacies, retail outlets, medical associations, distributors, cooperatives, and other key stakeholders in the sector.
  • Represent the organisation in national and local meetings as well as congresses related to sales matters; advise both the General Manager and the sales team on effective strategies.
  • Engage with broader leadership teams across the company to share best practices and learn from colleagues in different regions.
  • Shape sales strategy in alignment with regional and global ambitions while collaborating with colleagues across functions to ensure clarity in decision-making processes.
  • Travel occasionally abroad for congresses, seminars, meetings or training sessions as required by the role.

What you bring:

To excel as Head of Sales in this respected healthcare organisation, you bring extensive experience gained from multinational environments—particularly those focused on pharmaceutical or consumer healthcare products. Your academic background equips you with theoretical knowledge while your practical expertise enables you to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders. Having led teams for at least five years within pharmaceutical sales or marketing settings demonstrates your commitment to nurturing talent through coaching sessions and structured development plans. Your interpersonal skills shine when engaging with diverse groups—from internal colleagues across functions to external partners such as doctors or retail outlets—ensuring smooth collaboration at every stage. Analytical thinking allows you to interpret market trends swiftly so that recommendations are always grounded in evidence rather than intuition alone. Fluency in both Vietnamese and English ensures seamless communication whether presenting at industry events or negotiating contracts with key partners.

  • A degree in Marketing, Sales or Pharmacy—or an MBA in Marketing or Business Administration—demonstrates your academic foundation for this role.
  • At least eight years’ experience in a similar capacity or within a multinational company operating in private or retail sectors involving out-of-pocket or over-the-counter products within pharmaceuticals or consumer healthcare.
  • Minimum five years’ proven track record managing people within pharmaceutical sales or marketing environments.
  • Exceptional planning skills combined with strong organisational abilities enable you to turn complex forecasts into actionable plans.
  • Analytical problem-solving capabilities allow you to interpret data effectively and translate insights into practical actions.
  • Excellent negotiation skills paired with outstanding communication abilities empower you to present confidently to KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), hospital management teams and external partners alike.
  • A results-driven approach grounded firmly in collaboration ensures you work harmoniously within teams while striving towards shared objectives.
  • Comfort working with data reports means you can quickly adapt strategies based on real-time information from the field.
  • Native Vietnamese language proficiency coupled with strong written and verbal English skills is mandatory for this position.
