What you'll do:

As a Material Planning Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of material forecasting, procurement coordination, inventory optimisation, and production support. Your day-to-day activities will involve analysing demand trends, refining planning methodologies, utilising advanced MRP tools, resolving shortages efficiently, and collaborating with various teams to drive improvements in business processes. You will also play a key role in defining safety stock levels, scheduling orders accurately, and ensuring that materials are ready for new product launches. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering teamwork across departments.   • Forecast 12 months demand for lumber, hardware, and subcontractor materials to ensure optimal inventory levels across all categories.
  • Analyse Buy to Stock and Buy to Order strategies with the aim of optimising purchase price index while maintaining supply continuity.
  • Clarify and improve material planning processes for each category, driving efficiency and accuracy throughout the supply chain.
  • Utilise current MRP systems to manage material planning from procurement through warehouse operations to production efficiency.
  • Resolve material shortages promptly by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Determine order volumes for long lead time materials, balancing risk management with operational requirements.
  • Define safety stock levels for each material category based on historical data, forecasted demand, and business needs.
  • Schedule ordering points for materials, working closely with procurement teams to ensure purchase requests are accurate and timely.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to build robust business processes and enhance ERP system functionality.
  • Ensure readiness of materials for new product introductions (NPI), coordinating cross-functional efforts for seamless launches.
