The successful candidate will be at the forefront of engaging with key healthcare stakeholders, including government authorities, industry associations, and policymakers, ensuring that the company’s voice is heard in critical policy discussions. With a focus on fostering trusted relationships and providing insightful analysis of regulatory developments, this position offers exposure to high-impact projects and cross-functional teamwork within a supportive and international environment. If you are passionate about making a difference in healthcare access and outcomes, and eager to contribute your expertise to a collaborative team during an exciting period of growth, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

  • Play a central role in shaping public affairs strategies that directly influence patient access and healthcare outcomes across Vietnam, working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Enjoy professional development opportunities within a dynamic, international setting that values knowledge sharing, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Benefit from comprehensive rewards and recognition as part of a global leader in pharmaceuticals, while contributing to impactful projects that drive positive change in the healthcare sector.

What you'll do:

As Public Affairs Manager based in Hanoi, you will play a vital role in driving the company’s external engagement strategy by nurturing influential relationships with key players across Vietnam’s healthcare ecosystem. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with diverse internal teams to align public affairs initiatives with business objectives while keeping abreast of regulatory changes that may impact operations. You will act as a bridge between the organisation and government agencies—ensuring open channels of communication—and represent the company’s interests at important industry events. By proactively identifying opportunities for advocacy and supporting crisis management when necessary, you will help safeguard the company’s reputation while advancing its mission to improve patient access. Success in this role requires not only deep knowledge of the local policy landscape but also excellent interpersonal skills to foster trust-based partnerships that benefit both patients and the broader community.

  • Develop and implement robust public affairs strategies that align with overall business priorities and market access goals, ensuring effective positioning within the Vietnamese healthcare landscape.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key government stakeholders such as the Ministry of Health (MOH), Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV), and other relevant healthcare authorities to support mutual objectives.
  • Monitor evolving healthcare policies, regulatory frameworks, and legislative changes, providing timely analysis and actionable recommendations to internal teams to inform decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Legal departments to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives and successful product launches.
  • Represent the organisation at industry associations, policy dialogues, and external forums to enhance corporate reputation and advance advocacy efforts on behalf of the company.
  • Identify opportunities for constructive participation in healthcare policy discussions aimed at improving patient access to innovative treatments and enhancing overall healthcare outcomes.
  • Ensure all external engagement activities adhere strictly to local regulations as well as internal compliance standards, upholding the highest levels of integrity.
  • Support crisis communication efforts and manage issues related to public policy or external stakeholder concerns when required, demonstrating resilience under pressure.

What you bring:

To excel as Public Affairs Manager you will bring extensive experience from within the pharmaceutical or broader healthcare industry—ideally having worked directly on public affairs or market access initiatives involving government bodies like MOH or DAV. Your academic background equips you with technical insight while your professional journey demonstrates your capacity for navigating complex regulatory environments. You possess refined interpersonal skills which enable you to collaborate seamlessly across functions such as medical affairs or legal teams. Your approach is grounded in empathy and respect for diverse perspectives; you are adept at managing sensitive negotiations while maintaining transparency. In addition to your subject matter expertise regarding Vietnamese health policy trends, your fluency in both Vietnamese and English ensures clear communication at every level. Your commitment to ethical conduct underpins all interactions—making you a dependable partner both inside and outside the organisation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, Public Health, Healthcare Management or a related discipline is essential; an advanced degree would be highly regarded.
  • At least seven years’ experience in Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Market Access, Policy or Corporate Affairs within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector is required for success in this position.
  • Proven track record working effectively with government agencies such as the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV), demonstrating sensitivity to local protocols.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Vietnam’s healthcare system including pharmaceutical regulations and current policy trends is crucial for informed decision-making.
  • Experience supporting new product launches or major strategic business initiatives is highly desirable for this role.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management abilities combined with excellent communication skills enable you to build rapport across diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills along with an ability to influence outcomes through thoughtful engagement are essential attributes for this position.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities allow you to translate complex policy developments into practical business actions that support organisational goals.
  • Fluency in both Vietnamese and English is mandatory for effective communication internally as well as externally.
