Data Platform Engineer / Data Platform Team Lead

Our client is one of Vietnam's largest financial services organizations, building a next-generation Data & AI platform to power advanced analytics and real-time model serving. We are hiring for two key roles: an ML Data Platform Engineer to design and scale production infrastructure on Kubernetes, and a Data Platforms Team Lead to drive platform strategy and lead a team of engineers. • Data Platforms Team Lead (People Leadership + Platform Strategy)

Track A: ML Data Platform Engineer

What You'll Own

You'll be responsible for designing, operating and continuously improving the core data and ML platform used by data engineers, data scientists and ML engineers across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating and optimizing large-scale data and ML platforms on Kubernetes

• Supporting technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Airflow, MLflow and KServe

• Building highly reliable, secure and scalable platform services

• Automating infrastructure and platform operations using Terraform, Helm and Ansible

• Troubleshooting production issues and driving root-cause analysis

• Supporting AI/ML model training, deployment and serving workloads

• Evaluating emerging technologies including LLM serving, vector databases and AI agents

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years operating data or ML platforms in production environments

• Strong Linux and Kubernetes administration skills

• Hands-on experience with several technologies such as: Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Flink, MLflow, KServe

• Experience with Terraform, Helm, Ansible, Git and CI/CD

• Python and Shell scripting proficiency

• Good understanding of data platform concepts, including streaming and batch processing, data lakes, feature stores, and data governance

Nice to Have

• LLM infrastructure or model serving experience

• LangChain, vLLM, pgvector

• Ceph or object storage administration

• Iceberg / Lakekeeper

Track B: Data Platforms Team Lead

What You'll Own

This role combines people leadership and platform ownership. You will lead a team of platform engineers while shaping the roadmap for a modern Data & AI platform that supports analytics, machine learning and enterprise-scale data products.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and coaching a team of data platform engineers

• Driving performance management, career development and team growth

• Owning the platform roadmap in partnership with Product Owners and engineering teams

• Designing and operating platform capabilities for data processing, data quality, AI/ML model training, and model serving

• Establishing engineering standards for reliability, security and observability

• Ensuring platform compliance with data privacy and regulatory requirements

• Representing the platform team across business and technology stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years in software engineering, platform engineering or data engineering

• Previous experience leading a Data Platform, MLOps or Platform Engineering team

• Strong knowledge of modern data platform technologies, including several of: Kafka, Airflow, Spark, Trino, Iceberg, MLflow, KServe, OpenMetadata

• Strong infrastructure background covering Linux, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Ansible, Ceph

• Experience working with Product Owners and cross-functional engineering teams

• Familiarity with Jira, Agile delivery and engineering governance

• Fluent English communication

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
