Senior Embedded Security Engineer – Linux / Android Platforms
We are seeking experienced Senior Embedded Security Engineers to design and implement end-to-end security solutions for modern embedded platforms. Open to candidates from Automotive, IoT, Mobile, Embedded domains. This role requires hands-on experience with Linux/Android systems, SoCs, connected devices. You will work on automotive-grade platforms (IVI, ADAS) using modern SoCs (Qualcomm, Renesas, TI) running Android Automotive, Linux, QNX, or AUTOSAR, delivering secure & scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Security Architecture & Engineering
- Design and implement end-to-end embedded security features, including:
- Secure Boot
- Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)
- Secure storage
- Secure OTA/update mechanisms
- Secure communication
- Contribute to system-level security architecture for embedded and connected platforms
- Threat Modeling & Reviews
- Perform threat modeling and architecture reviews for systems such as IVI, ADAS, IoT devices
- Identify vulnerabilities and define mitigation strategies early in the development lifecycle
- Security Implementation & Hardening
- Implement system hardening for Linux / Android / QNX platforms
- Conduct secure code reviews and support vulnerability remediation
- Integrate access control frameworks (SELinux, AppArmor)
- Testing & Validation
- Perform comprehensive security testing:
- Static & dynamic analysis
- Fuzzing
- Penetration testing
- Validate security features on real hardware and near-production environments
- Process & Compliance
- Develop and maintain security engineering processes (SEP) and requirements
- Support compliance with industry security standards and best practices
Requirements
Mandatory
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cryptography, or related field
- 7–15 years of experience, including at least 2–5 years in embedded software, system software, or security engineering
- Hands-on experience with Linux and/or Android platforms (BSP, middleware, system services, or low-level components)
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals:
- Cryptography
- Secure communication protocols
- Secure coding practices
- Security testing methodologies
- Practical experience in implementing embedded security solutions:
- Secure Boot
- Secure storage
- OTA updates
- Device/system trust mechanisms
- Secure communication
Nice-to-Have (Plus Points)
- Experience with modern SoCs (Qualcomm, Renesas R-Car, TI, etc.)
- Knowledge or experience in QNX development
- Security certifications (CEH, CISSP, OSCP, GIAC, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in:
- Secure Boot & signing tools
- Hardware security (ARM TrustZone, OP-TEE, HSM)
- Storage security (disk encryption, dm-verity)
- Communication protocols (TLS/DTLS, SSH, IPsec, MACsec)
- Access control & system hardening (SELinux, AppArmor)
- Network security (firewall, secure networking)
- Security testing techniques (fuzzing, penetration testing, static/dynamic analysis)
