How are employees in Vietnam changing their perspectives on 'work'?

Almost two years into the global COVID-19 pandemic, organisations and professionals have come to accept and adapt to different processes and work routines.

From remote and hybrid work arrangements to video-based interviewing and discussions, to a greater awareness and push for mental health and overall well-being, employees are increasingly conscious of how workplaces can be forged differently in a post-pandemic climate.

As countries across South East Asia slowly emerge from various forms of lockdowns and restrictions, how are employees readjusting to a return to the office and the ‘new normal’? Will work be back to ‘business as usual’? Or would companies have to face a vastly changed landscape of employee expectations?

For starters, Phuc Pham, Associate Director - Tech & Digital, Sales & Marketing (Consumer & Retail, Healthcare and Industrial) at Robert Walters Vietnam, points out, "Purpose of workplaces will be re-evaluated. Companies will focus even more on creating spaces that foster collaboration and a sense of belonging."

Robert Walters Vietnam surveyed professionals in Vietnam during late July 2021 to find out how employees have changed their perspectives on ‘work’ in the 'new normal'. Our compiled infographic below presents an invaluable insight into attracting, upskilling and bringing out the best in talent in the post-pandemic, hybrid workplace.
