Switching careers to the recruitment world, Phuc Pham paved his path well and rose as one of the youngest Country Managers at Robert Walters.
I’d been in the insurance industry for two years when I decided to steer my career into new territory: recruitment. In 2014, I joined Robert Walters as an associate consultant. I’ve steadily built my career since then, and I’m now Country Manager for Robert Walters Vietnam.
Vietnam is a vibrant market that is seeing tremendous growth and digitalisation, and I’m proud to be leading five teams that have a hand in shaping the success of businesses in these industries. The ability to create such impact was a big reason why I was drawn to Robert Walters when I decided to make the move into recruitment. With its strong reputation as an international firm, Robert Walters would enable me to help all kinds of organisations find the right talent.
Furthermore, I love meeting new people, so a role that revolves around building strong relationships is perfect for me. I enjoy connecting with some of the top talent in the industry and helping them reach the next milestone in their careers.
Those relationships don’t end after a placement has been made. We check in regularly with our clients and candidates, and it’s always satisfying to hear their progress and learn that we’ve made the right match.
At Robert Walters, I’ve also forged close bonds with a dynamic team of individuals from all over the world. We operate on a team profit share system, so collaboration is key to making sure everybody succeeds. We place a huge emphasis on establishing rapport as a team. Outside of work, we take the time to let loose and come together for meals and other fun activities.
Recruitment requires you to engage with people deeply and think strategically. Our work is fast-paced and some days are demanding, but with persistence and the right motivation, there’s no limit to how far you can go. If you’re excited by the prospect of influencing high-calibre candidates and organisations, then recruitment could just be your calling. And at Robert Walters, you’ll get to make your mark alongside highly performing teams.
